Nicholas Norton Obituary
Nicholas "Nick" Samuel Norton, age 34, passed away Thursday, April 03, 2025 in Birmingham, Alabama. He lived his life in Ohatchee and Saks, Alabama, attending school in Oxford, Saks and Ohatchee. He completed two programs at Gadsden State Community College in addition to earning an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Air Conditioning/Refrigeration. Along with these programs, he completed core academic classes. Nick earned a scholarship at Gadsden State Community College. He worked as a handyman, mechanic, and farm manager on the Norton Farms where he also repaired and replaced equipment. Nicholas was a loving son, brother and father. He played football, baseball, and participated in Future Farmers of America where he held an office. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his sons, significant other, and family. Funeral service for Nicholas will be Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Ohatchee Church of Christ with Mr. Wayne Dunaway officiating and Thompson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends Saturday from noon until time of service at the church. Burial will follow at Pleasant Gap Cemetery in Cherokee County, Alabama. Survivors include sons, Fredrick Keith Norton and Conner Grubbs , both of Ohatchee; parents, Frank and Kim Norton of Spring Garden; grandmother, Mary Norton of Spring Garden; four sisters, Christine McNulty (Daniel) of Gainsville, VA, Jennifer Jones (Jason) of Ohatchee, Lori Downs (Wesley) and Kristen Schuster (David) , all of Collierville, TN; nieces and nephews, Kaitlyn McNulty, Daniel McNulty, Samuel Jones, Nathan Jones, John Jones, Hadley Downs, Brooke Downs, and Anderson Downs; aunts and uncles, Barbara Schneider (Craig), Dr. Samuel Ellsworth Gayton, Ronnie Norton, Greg Norton (Alice), Lisa Moland (Ronald) and numerous cousins. Pallbearers will be Samuel Jones, Nate Jones, Tyler Howard, Jason Jones, David Schuster, Wesley Downs and Daniel McNulty. Honorary pallbearers will be Fredrick Keith Norton, John Jones, Conner Grubbs and Danny McNulty.
