Dr. Peggy-Lynn Prescott

Funeral service for Dr. Peggy-Lynn Prescott, 79, will be Sunday at 4 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville with the Rev. Lin Veasey, the Rev. Bob Ford and the Rev. Tom Winter officiating. Burial will be in Jacksonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Dr. Prescott died on Thursday, February 18, 2016, at RMC of Jacksonville. She is survived by two nephews, Tom Prescott, of Florida, and Shawn Prescott, of Georgia, and one sister-in-law, Betty Prescott, of Georgia. Dr. Prescott was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Prescott; one brother, George Prescott, and one nephew, Scott Prescott. Dr. Prescott was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville where she was an active knitter in the Prayer Shawl Ministry and taught the Children's Choir. She was a joy to all who knew her and will be deeply missed. In her spare time, Dr. Prescott enjoyed writing poetry and learning new things. She obtained many degrees in education, communication and music throughout her life. She was also a gifted musician and an excellent cook. Dr. Prescott was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Prescott; one brother, George Prescott; and one nephew, Scott Prescott.
