Theodore Hogue Obituary

Theodore James Hogue, age 31, of Ohatchee, AL, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025. Mr. Hogue was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to Ted and Jill Hogue. TJ was survived by his brothers: Jacob Hogue (RaeAnna), Austin Tucker, Chris Hogue (Maddie) and Pat Hogue; his grandmothers: Edna Wildman and Bernetta (James) Chicarell; his aunts: Amanda McFall (Joey), Alisa Smith (Dwight), Cindy Molton; uncles: Patrick Hogue (Teresa), Butch Hogue and Joey Wildman. TJ was preceded in death by his mother Jill Hogue; his father Ted Hogue; his grandfathers James Hogue and Tommy Wildman. A memorial service will be held to celebrate the life of TJ Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Fire City Church; 461 Choccolocco Rd, Anniston, AL 36207. The family welcomes anyone that knew him to come and celebrate his life. TJ, affectionately known as Teddy to his friends, attended Ohatchee High School until 2010 when he decided to go after his GED. As of late, TJ was living in Foley, AL after completing his course with the Coastal Recovery Outreach for Men. TJ was proud to be the assistant director after his completion of the program, in hopes that he could help others the way the program had helped him. He recently went to work as marine crewman at M.D Thomas Construction and he was also a popular waiter in the Orange Beach area. He loved his family and his friends, treating most as if they were his family. He loved to socialize, dance, talk, travel, work out and shop. If you were lucky enough to know TJ, you were lucky enough to know his smile, his fashion, his knack for telling you a story, his laugh and his constant snapchat stories. TJ's family was so proud of him and the way he overcame whatever life threw at him. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him. While we know death is coming, we are never truly prepared but we all can find comfort knowing that TJ is free. The family is asking that instead of flowers you would consider a donation to the Coastal Recovery Outreach for Men (24729 CR87 Robertsdale, AL 36567) or a local outreach program of your choice in TJ's honor.

To TJ's family, I was so sorry to hear of the passing of TJ. I met TJ several years ago when I was visiting my son, Connor, and my parents in Pensacola. I want you to know that I loved TJ from the first time I met him and considered him one of my own. He was so respectful, kind, and man, he had a great smile. I remember the day I got the phone call that TJ had passed away and my heart broke into a million pieces. My 26 year old son, Josh, passed away by suicide on Memorial Day, 2014 so I know and understand where all of you are emotionally. My heart goes out to all of you.

TJ was like one of my own and he was doing so well the last time I saw him. He was healthy, had a great job, worked hard, and he just looked great! In may 2024, TJ joined Connor, me, and my parents for dinner at The Steamer in Gulf Shores. My parents thought a lot of TJ. I've attached some photos of the times I spent with TJ. You can be assured that he will never be forgotten.

From day 1, TJ captured a part of my heart and soul. No matter what I supported him and considered it a great honor to have him as a close friend. Words cannot describe the joy his smile would bring to others and I´ll try to take comfort knowing he will still be with us watching over us. Miss you and will always love you my friend! Until we meet again rest easy sweet TJ!

I first met Teddy when he was 7/8 yrs. Old. I remember Lauren and I babysitting him, Jacob, and Austin. During that time, the Austin Powers movies were popular and Teddy would drive us nuts by quoting it word for word. Miss you Teddy. I wish I could hear you quote the movie just once more ..

He was always a sweet young man who became an amazing adult! He always started and ended with hugs and in between, he was so excited to tell you how great his life was and everything he had been up to! Go rest high my friend, we got it from here!!
