Wallace Johnson Obituary

PIEDMONT — Mr. Wallace Harold Johnson, 71, died Monday at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center. A native of Anniston, Mr. Johnson was born on December 12, 1937, the son of the late James and Lola Mae Gaines Johnson. He was a member of the "Lunch Bunch" of Stoney Brook and a 1956 graduate of Alexandria High School. Before his retirement he was employed with Equifax.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Vassie Johnson, of Piedmont; a daughter, Karen R. Johnson, of Piedmont; two brothers, Terry (Pat) Johnson, Tommy (Lynn) Johnson; four sisters, Jimmie Nell (Frank) Guthrie, Fay Cavileer, Kay (Mike) Small and Nancy Bussey; two grandchildren, Hayley and Micah; two sisters-in-law, Willa Stephens and Carolyn Herod; a lifelong best friend, J.H. Connell. Several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.

Graveside services for Mr. Johnson will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. today, February 12, 2009, at Green's Cemetery in Piedmont with Mr. J.H. Connell and Mr. David Curvin officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. at the Folsom Funeral Home. Those who would like to follow in procession will meet at the funeral home no later than 2 p.m. The family would like for friends and relatives to feel free to dress casual. The following gentlemen will serve as active pallbearers, J.H. Connell, Jeff Finley, J.C. Holmes, Joe Grimes, Brian Guthrie, Daniel Guthrie, Ray Guthrie and David Curvin. Memorial contributions may be made to the Green Cemetery Fund, 506 Rocky Hollow Lane, Piedmont, Ala. 36272. Online condolences may be made to the family at: www.folsomfhandcemetery.com Folsom Funeral Home of Piedmont has charge of funeral arrangements.
