Wanda Tierce McCurdy

Wanda Tierce McCurdy, 72, passed away at Gadsden Regional Medical Center on August 11, 2021 due to the complications of congestive heart failure & kidney failure. She was a graduate of Spring Garden High School & a member of the Spring Garden, AL community, Cherokee County Genealogical Society & of Carmel Presbyterian Church. Wanda had a love & talent for cooking & playing the card game Canasta. She never prepared a bad meal & rarely lost a card game. Wanda dedicated many years to researching & documenting her family genealogy. But what she most enjoyed was spending time with her family & friends; especially her grandchildren & her new great-grandson. One word that best describes Wanda is "Love"; she had the biggest heart. She valued & loved her family & friends more than anything. Everyone left her company knowing they were seen, heard, loved & felt better than they did before. She had a very close relationship with her son, who not only refers to her as "the BEST mother ever", but also his best friend. This is a big loss that will be felt by many. Wanda is survived by son, Todd Keasler; stepson, David McCurdy (Sheila), grandchildren, Priscilla McCurdy Curtis (Spencer), Nicolas Tierce, Kaden Tierce, Justin McCurdy & Wade Horne; great-grandson, Marshall Curtis; brother, Alton Tierce; sister, Joyce Watson; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by husband, Pat McCurdy; step-daughter, Barbara Lane; parents, Alfred & Mamie Tierce; sisters Shirley Jean Tierce & Louise Comer; brothers Charles Tierce & Richard Tierce; nephew, Randall Tierce & niece, Donna Boozer. Graveside service will be Monday, August 16, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Carmel Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Lester & Neale Lanigan officiating. Pallbearers will be Spencer Curtis, Robert Jones, Ted Acker, Eddie Watson, Tim Watson & Dayton Boozer. The family asks that everyone please wear a mask due to the pandemic.
