CHESTERFIELD, S.C. – Agnes Williams McLain, 60, died on Wednesday, June 25, 2014. She was born on July 24, 1953, in Wadesboro, a daughter of the late J.B. Williams and Annie Gainey Boone Williams.
She graduated from Bowman High School and attended Anson TEC, where she received her LPN. Mrs. McLain was a former nurse with Lillie Bennett Nursing Home and a member of Faith Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, taking care of her dog, and shopping at Fred's.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. McLain was also preceded in death by her husband, Tony Floyd McLain; her brother, Grady Boone; and four sisters, Sue Meachum, Helen Williams, Willie Mae Ricketts and Peggy Robertson. She is survived by one sister, Brenda (Patrick) Layman of Simpsonville, S.C.; two brothers, Olin (Jean) Boone, of Wadesboro, and T.F. (Shelba) Boone, also of Wadesboro; her mother-in-law, Barbara McLain James, of Chesterfield, S.C.; her beloved doggie, Peaches; her special friend, Gil Bowman; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on June 28 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel in Chesterfield, followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. in the chapel. Interment followed in Thompson Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
