Terrence Pomasl Obituary

Terrence (Terry) Pomasl, of Logansport, Indiana, passed away on May 15, 2022, at the age of 83 and will be deeply missed by his loving family.
Terry was born in the home of his parents in White Lake, Wisconsin, on January 2, 1939, son of the late Carl and Eva Yakel Pomasl.
He was married on November 11, 1961, in Waukesha, Wisconsin to Maureen Shepherd. They were married for 60 years, and she survives. Also surviving are his three sons, Jeff (Jamee), Chris (Toni) and Greg (Kristi). He is also survived by his siblings, Sandy Listle and Tony Pomasl; his grandchildren, Danielle, Ryan, Jacob (Kourtney), Emily, Dylan, Kaylor, Reid, Ryan, Nathan, Everett, and Kathleen; and daughter-In-Law, Mary, as well as numerous loving friends and brothers/sisters-in-law.
Terry was preceded in death by sisters-in-law, Sharon Pomasl, Cam Pomasl, Jane Volkmann, and Peggy Ganz; and brothers-in-law, Jack Listle, Jim Shepherd and Mike Volkmann.
He was a member of All Saints Parish, Logansport, for over 50 years and was a 4th degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. He called BINGO in the local K of C Hall for years before the lodge closed. He had a tremendous singing voice, and many parishioners of All Saints will recall the booming baritone filling the church with songs of praise.
Terry spent most of his career as the owner of Import Auto Service in Logansport. At the end of his career, he found great passion for working with the kids in the Logansport State Hospital Juvenile Detention Center, where he was a guard.
Visitation was held at Kroeger Funeral Home, Logansport, on Thursday, May 19, 2022.
The Mass of Christian Burial was Friday, May 20, 2022, at All Saints Catholic Church, Logansport.
Interment followed in Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport.

I left high school in Logansport at 17, enrolled in Purdue 's Chemistry Dept ...a year early. My mother gave me her 58 Buick which got at best 9 mpg. Terry had been demonstrating the 68-71 VW Type 4 at the Fairgrounds. We bought a 72 with some college money. It was horribly over-priced as VW's Big Car. Terry was Seaton Burgin's Service Manager. It shimmied at 56 mph. Terry ordered the track control arm bushings replaced. Labor was only $14 and hour then...10% of today's! Then it shimmied worse. He said Uh-oh we made it into a 71. The bottle-nosed dolphin muffler rusted. This was a very expensive thing for the Type 4 engine. He replaced a rotted fuel line with copper. He asked me When exactly do you drive at the limit of adhesion? I said steel belted radials give way suddenly but non steel radials give you warning by giving out progressively at the limit. I saw him at church at KofC. Later I was Knighted 3rd Degree in Monticello. Terry always impressed me as more than 1000% more honest than Chuck Schumer. So I really miss my friend Terry Pomisil. I thought he needed an Austrian green hat with a feather. He thought I came in Burgin's Service saying outlandish things but he took it to heart every time.
