Alex Kocsis

AGE: 99 • Perth Amboy

Alex Kocsis, 99, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2015. He was born in New Brunswick, NJ on January 22, 1916, to the late Mary and Steve Kocsis. Alex was a parishioner of St. Stephen's Church / Saint John Paul II Parish. He worked for Industrial Washing Machine Corporation before retiring in 1987. He was an avid fisherman, and was involved in several local sporting clubs.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Helen Morris and Mary Blasi; brother William Kocsis; his first wife Stephania Faley Kocsis; his second wife Mary Mullen Kocsis; and his son-in-law Steven Carroll. He is survived by his daughters MaryAnn Hopler and her husband William and Alice Carroll; grandchildren Roxanne and James Clarke, Amy and Chris Hooper, and Steven Hopler; great-grandchildren Katie and Daniel Clarke, and Christopher Hooper.

Viewing will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2015 from 2pm-5pm at Zylka Funeral Home, 513 State Street, Perth Amboy. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 2 beginning with prayers at the funeral home at 9:45am. Mass will be held at 10am at St. Stephen's Church in Perth Amboy, followed by burial in St. Stephen's Cemetery in Keasbey. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in his name to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
