Ann C. Rinaldi

Ann C. Rinaldi, 88, of Toms River, was surrounded by family and bathed in prayer when she passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Capital Health Hospital, Trenton. Born in Union City, she attended Union Hill High School and graduated with high honors. She lived most of her life in North Bergen, moved to Brick for 6 years, before finally residing in Toms River in 1987.
She worked for Bell Telephone, New York, NY, Kreisler Corporation in North Bergen, Keuffel & Esser in Hoboken, and Carteret Savings and Loan, Brick, before her retirement.
Ann was a devout Catholic and parishioner of the Church of the Visitation, Brick, a former active member of the Mother's Guild of Sacred Heart School in Fairview, belonged to the Sokol and the Bowling league at Nungessers. She was actively involved in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Brick Elks, where she held many positions, including president. She later was inducted into the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of Brick. She was proud of her Italian heritage and membership in the Italian American Cultural Society, Toms River. She formerly worked for the election board as a poll worker and active participant in her community association.
Ann was known for her zest for life. She loved music and dancing, and was always the life of the party. She will be remembered by all for her amazing capacity to love everyone. In return, she was loved and admired by all who knew her. She was known for her excellent Italian cooking and baking, that she so generously shared with everyone. In addition, she had an amazing talent for sewing, knitting, and crocheting. Most importantly, she was the most loving and supportive mother a child could ever hope to have.
She is predeceased by her loving husband, Peter James Rinaldi of 45 years, who passed in 1989; her loving parents, Rose (Panio) Palazzo and Prosper Palazzo; her two brothers, Nicholas and Pat Palazzo; her sister, Phyllis Wiklund; and her goddaughter and niece, Jane Wiklund. She is survived by her loving children, Rose and husband E. Michael Jacob Jr. of Manahawkin; son, Peter and wife Mary Ellen of Jackson; her grandchildren, Danielle & Elisa Jacob, Jessica, Caitlin and Peter Rinaldi Jr.; her brother-in-law, Vincent Rinaldi; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rosemarie & Robert Ruezinsky; her two goddaughters, Donna (Palazzo) DeSalvo and Lynn Ruezinsky, and many nieces and nephews. She will be eternally loved and missed.
Visiting will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 13 and from 2 to 4 p.m. & 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 14 at the Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Road, Toms River. Funeral Saturday, March 15; arrive at the funeral home 8:30 a.m. Funeral Mass to follow at 9:30 a.m. at the Church of the Visitation, Brick. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River. www.
