Anna P. Avolio

AGE: 97 ? formerly of Scranton, PA

Anna P. Avolio, 97, formerly of Scranton, PA, entered into the glory of her eternal life on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, in Jersey Shore Center Nursing Facility, Eatontown, NJ. Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother, Anna was predeceased by her husband, Peter Avolio, in 1998 in Miami Florida. Born in Scranton in 1913, daughter of the late Frank Petula and Anna Dziurdziewicz Petula, she was educated in Scranton schools and worked in May's department store, Brooklyn, NY and was a volunteer for the American Red Cross before retiring with her husband in Florida. She enjoyed singing, dancing and the company of family and friends.

Left behind to treasure her memory are one son, Gerald and wife, Olympia; six grandchildren, Gerald, Glenn, Sharon, Randal, Joy and Ronald; seven great grandchildren, Paul, Alissa, Kristen, Lindsay, Matthew, Christopher and Mia; and two great great grandchildren, Liam and Sabrina. Anna's family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Jersey Shore Center, Seashore wing for their kindness, compassion and excellent care provided to Anna. They also deeply appreciated the compassionate care provided by Grace Healthcare Hospice Services.

Services were private and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anna's name to Grace Healthcare Hospice Services. To send condolences to the family, please visit www.legacy.com. The Flock Funeral Home, Long Branch is in charge of arrangements.
