Anthony Bonomo Obituary
AGE: 89 • Freehold
Anthony J. "Tony" Bonomo, 89, of Freehold, passed away on Monday, April 30, 2012, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Twp. Mr. Bonomo was born in Brooklyn to the parents of Alessio and Carmela Bonomo, was raised and had lived there until moving to The Villages, Freehold in 2009. Mr. Bonomo was a U.S. Army veteran during World War II serving in the Pacific Theater. He was 1949 graduate of the City College of New York and was a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Bonomo was the treasurer for General Papers Goods Company, Brooklyn for over 30 years, retiring in 1988. In retirement, he worked as an associate for Collabella & Company, Brooklyn. Mr. Bonomo was a long time member of AICPA. He was a former parishioner of St. Frances of de Chantal, Brooklyn and a communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, Freehold Township.
Mr. Bonomo is survived by his wife, Sarina Bonomo; a daughter, Camille Cugini and her husband, Henry of Freehold Township; three sons, Anthony Bonomo and his wife, Rosemarie of Hamilton, Robert Bonomo of Mineola, NY, and David Bonomo and his wife, MaryAnn of Summit; 12 grandchildren, Melissa Gray and her husband, Chris, Michael Cugini and his wife, Kellen, Daniel Cugini, Laura Cugini, Anthony L. Bonomo, Thomas, Bonomo, Gregory Bonomo, Luke Bonomo, Serena Bonomo, David P. Bonomo Jr., Jack Bonomo, and Michael Bonomo; a great-granddaughter, Giovanna; and two brothers, John Bonomo and his wife, Cathy of Queens, NY and Philip Bonomo and his wife, Katie of Silver Springs, MD.
Visiting will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township. Relatives and friends may gather at 9 a.m. Thursday, May 3, 2012 at the funeral home for the procession to St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township for his 10 a.m. Funeral Mass. Interment to follow in Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent. For those who desire, memorial contributions in memory of Anthony may be made to The CentraState Healthcare Foundation, 916 Route 33, Suite 6, Freehold, NJ 07728-8450.
