Linda Youncofski called to let me know that "Brother," as we called Anthony had passed. We spend a long time on the phone going back to our early early childhood and our lives in the Maple Place and Oak Shades Neighborhood. We were lucky to have a large number of peers, and among them Brother Granato was one of the most kind, positive and carring, As a group of kids, and then teens we laughed, cried, went on adventures, and learned together. A kinder more gentle human being would be difficult to find, Our prayers and meditations are with the family, and believe me as his childhood friends, everyone of the 10 or so that I have spoken with, share their sadness at this loss to humanity. Rosemary, Karen, Teresa and Toni,
My heart is broken to hear the news! Tony was not only my boss for many years but a truly great person. He had so much advice and was so caring. We had so many laughs along the way. His inventions he brought to work and his sayings were priceless. He was more like an older brother to me then a boss. Sorry I was unable to attend the services but know you all are heavy on my mind. I'm sending all my love and prayers. Girls take care of your mom and know your Dad spoke so highly of each one of you. He loved you all more than anything.
With Love, Tracy

Tony was not only my brother in law but a dear friend, if I may - this is a poem I found many years ago and site frequently for it helps to remind us that he will always be with us. Lawrence Mione,Sr.
As dawn in the sunless retreat of the ocean,
Sweet flowers are springing no mortal can see
So deep in my soul the prayer of devotion
Unheard by the world, raises silent in Thee.
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there. I do not sleep
I am a thousand-winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints of snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn's rain,
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight
I am the soft star that shines at night
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I amAs dawn in the sunless retreat of the ocean,
Sweet flowers are springing no mortal can see
So deep in my soul the prayer of devotion
Unheard by the world, raises silent in Thee.
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there. I do not sleep
I am a thousand-winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints of snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn's rain,
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight
I am the soft star that shines at night
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die!
not there, I did not die!

I'm so sorry to hear of Tony's passing. I was a fraternity bother at WKU and Tony was a big influence on myself and others in my pledge class and a friend and fraternity brother for life. May God give the family strength during this difficult time.
