Benny Grandinetti

AGE: 57 • West Long Branch

Benny Grandinetti, 57, passed away peacefully surrounded by his friends and family on January 6, 2012. He was born in Long Branch and resided in West Long Branch for the past 26 years. He was a plumber all his life not to mention a jack-of-all trades. Benny loved sports and he was also his children's number one fan. His pride and joy was spending time with his three grandsons. He touched the lives and hearts of many with his fun-loving humor, nicknaming and famous phrases.

Benny was predeceased by his father, Benjamin; he is survived by his mother, Helen "Tootsie"; his wife of 34 years, Rita (Merla) and their six children, Richelle and her two sons Tristeon and Rian; Christina; Lauren Messano and husband Charlie and their son Charlie; Nikki Isidoro and husband Lorenzo; Ali; and his only son Benny; his sisters Gloria Galatis; Nancy Rosati and husband Tom; Lori Mazer and husband Stephen; Lisa Mazza and husband Chris; his brothers John and Robert; tons of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 10 from 4 to 8 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave (corner of Third Ave), Long Branch. Funeral Wednesday, January 11, 9:30 am at the funeral home with a 10:30 am Mass held at St. Michael RC Church, West End. Interment will follow at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to the St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center at MMC, 95 Short Hills Road, West Orange, NJ 07052.
