Bernard F. Chenoweth

Port Monmouth - Bernard F. Chenoweth, 77 of Port Monmouth, NJ passed away on November 29, 2018 at Riverview Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Bernard was born in Newark, NJ on January 30, 1941. Graduated from Red Bank Catholic, class of 1958. Where he met his High School sweetheart Joyce Somma. They married on February 6, 1960 and were married for 46 years. Bernard worked for Grand Union for 44 years as a manager. He also worked as a special Police Officer for Middletown Township for 42 years.

Bernard was predeceased by his parents Bernard Chenoweth Sr and Lorraine (Knapp) Chenoweth. His wife of 46 wonderful years Joyce (Somma) Chenoweth. Bernard is survived by his loving children and their spouses Deborah and Kevin McCauley, Bernard and Donna Chenoweth, David and Annette Chenoweth, Patricia and Gary Frost, Michael and Tracy Chenoweth, Robert and Monica Chenoweth. He is also survived by his loving brother and sister in Law Lawerence and Maureen Chenoweth and his loving sister in law Barbara (Somma) Hyneman. He was the Grandfather to Jason, Brian, Kelsey, Brittney, Emmi, Taylor, Julie, Luis, Justin, Noelle, Scott, Alexandra, Gary, Delaney, Lexi, Danielle, Timmy, Jack, Declan, Robbie, Riley, Luke, and Gabby. Great Grandfather to Abigail, Ireland, Logan, Robert, Brody and Lenzi. Bernard is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Bernard enjoyed gardening, and going to watch the Middletown PBA soft ball games! Loved watching the Yankees! And going to Blue Claws games. Bernard was loved by so MANY AND WILL BE DEARLY MISSED.

Bernard will be reposing at the Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home 1735 Route 35, Middletown, NJ 07748 on Monday December 3, 2018 from 3 - 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday December 4, 2018 at 10:30am at St. Mary's Chapel 26 Leonardville Road Middletown, NJ. Interment to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Fond memories of this man....known to my family as "Sam Ketchum" My dad and Bernie were good friends for years(they worked in Grand Union together). He always caught the bad guys :). May you find comfort in all the memories you shared with this wonderful man.
