Berta Weisman Obituary
Long Branch - Berta Solomon Weisman, 98, died peacefully on May 14, 2018 in New York. Born in Long Branch, NJ she spent her life there. During her lifetime she worked for Prudential Insurance, at Marx Brothers Meats as a Bookkeeper and for many years at WEISMAN's Variety Store in Sea Bright. She was active in the Senior Citizen Centers in Long Branch and Atlantic Highlands. Surviving are her son Howard and wife Terri, Jefferson, Ohio; daughter Ann Weisman Cohen and Harry Fieldler, Manhattan, NY; son-in-law Paul Cohen, Metuchen, NJ and daughter-in-law Hilda Liebeskind, Tinton Falls, NJ. Berta is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by husband Bert of 66 years and son Jay Weisman in 1986. She was also predeceased by sisters Bookie Maron, Effie Marx, Marion Berman and brothers Harold, David, and Norman Solomon.
A Graveside service will be held Sunday, May 20th, 11:00am at Monmouth Fields Cemetery.

Dearest Ann, Michael, Matt & Shana,
Our most heartfelt condolences to you all. We are forever blessed to have had the opportunity to know Berta and be in her company for the time we had.
She was truly a kind, loving and sweet woman who greatly loved her family. We will miss her and know she is at peace now.
Forever in our hearts and minds she will remain.

The Weisman family were next door neighbors and very close friends on Atlantic Ave. Berta was there for Rita when my dad died, and they remained close even as they aged, speaking regularly on the phone. I personally was always deeply grateful to Bert and Bert for offering me my first job, at the store in Sea Bright. Rest In Peace Berta.

Berta was my fathers sister mu aunt. She loved her family and they loved her. She had a good life RIP Aunt Bert
