CHARLES E. MURPHY
AGE 76 . THE DUNES
Charles Edward Murphy, 76, of the Dunes section of Long Beach Township, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009 at Beth Israel Medical Center, Newark.
Mr. Murphy was born in Staten Island and lived there, while a summer and weekend resident of the Dunes for many years before moving here year-round in 2001.
He was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi R.C. Church and served as a eucharistic minister. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Staten Island.
Mr. Murphy worked as a trader on Wall Street from 1954-2000.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Janet, nee Neville; one son, Lace Charles Murphy and his wife Tiffany Lambert of Maui, Hawaii; one daughter, Maura Elizabeth Murphy and her husband Michael Racette of Wellesley, Mass.; one brother, Michael Murphy of Florida, and one granddaughter, Caroline Murphy Racette.A gathering took place Feb. 13 at the Bugbee-Riggs Funeral Home, 12th Street and Boulevard, Ship Bottom. Cremation was private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 4700 Long Beach Blvd., Brant Beach NJ 08008, or to the charity of your choice, in Mr. Murphy's memory.
