David Hickey Obituary
Freehold - Dave J. Hickey, 61, longtime Freehold Township resident, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2021 surrounded by his loving wife and two children. He was born on September 26, 1959 to Mary and William Hickey.
He graduated from Kean University with a degree in Business and Marketing, and worked as an outstanding businessman at Valquip Corporation and Tyco Thermal Controls for many years. On October 22, 1983, he married Mary "Mare" his long-term partner in crime. Respectfully, shortly after that he welcomed his son and daughter who were the most important part of his life.
Dave was a devoted family man and avid golfer. Dave enjoyed life to the fullest through simple pleasures. He loved cruising around in his Jaguar enjoying beautiful weather. He often loved relaxing down by the beach fishing and crabbing. Dave spent most of his later years retired and involved with his three beautiful granddaughters.
Dave will be sadly missed by his wife Mary of 38 years. Survived by his son David, his wife Beth and their two daughters, Maci and Ella. His daughter Dana, son in law Tim and their daughter Cache. His sister Patricia and brother in law Joe Ferrara. His brother Thomas Hickey and sister in law Linda Westman. Brother in law Carl and late sister in law Gina Romagnoli, his 4 nephews, 2 nieces and 5 great nieces.
Friends and family are invited to visit on Thursday, June 24, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Freeman Manalapan Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. A funeral liturgy will be held at St. Rose of Lima Church on Friday, June 25, 2021 at 10:30 AM. Mary,
Wishing condolences on the loss of your husband. I appreciate that this must be tough time for you, and I hope I am not overstepping.
With all due respect, you don´t know me, but we met 60 years ago at your house on Peachtree Lane!
I spent lots of time there and remember Tippy, your beagle, and your dad called me "Gabby" cuz I talked so much!
I am a long lost friend of your sister, Linda, and I am trying to get in touch after dropping the ball many years ago. She and I were best friends from kindergarten thru 8th grade!
I have also reached out on your mom´s page in the hopes of reconnecting.
If this message happens to get to you, I hope you´ll share with your sister, so we might share some memories.
