Diane Cusa Obituary
Interlaken - Diane Marie (nee Fornicola) Cusa, 77, of Interlaken passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.
Diane was born in Brooklyn, NY and had resided in Interlaken since the mid 1960's. She was very involved in the lives of her sons growing up. She volunteered her time to tutor students in reading at Our Lady of Mt Carmel School in Asbury Park while her sons attended grammar school there. Diane was a Communicant of St. Michael's Church, West End, and was involved in many philanthropic endeavors during her life. She was a member of the Monmouth Park Charity Committee; the Pollack Auxiliary Charity of Monmouth Medical Center and she had been the President of the Monmouth University Library Association. She had been the owner of the Material Girls clothing store in Allenhurst.
She was predeceased by her parents Paul and Amelia (nee George) Fornicola. Surviving are her 3 loving sons William D. Cusa Jr., Paul G. Cusa, and Michael K. Cusa, all of Wall Twp., her 4 cherished grandchildren Amanda C. Cusa, William D. Cusa III, Paul J. Cusa, and Eileen E. Cusa, her 2 devoted brothers Paul L. Fornicola and wife MaryLou and Ronald V. Fornicola, all of Wall Twp., and her nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Friday from 2:00pm to 5:00pm followed by a Funeral Service on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 10:00am at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall. Burial will follow in St. Anne's Cemetery, Wall Twp.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there are limitations on capacity at the funeral home, guests are asked to briefly greet the family for the visitation and exit the building. Face-coverings must be worn to enter the building.

Sending my condolences, thoughts & hugs from afar to Paul and the Cusa family: Diane welcomed me so easily into a family and life so different from my own. I will cherish my memories and chats with her about our shared love of flowers, new paint colors & decor, clothing trends & accessories, new restaurants & shops in towns, real estate on the shore, and her local community work. A true ny to jersey girl who was essential to my NJ experience. I will truly miss my kindred "piscean" spirit, a connoisseur of high class and taste, who continued to ask about me and always supported my family responsibilities. I love you Diane and the family you brought into the world... thank you for all that you have done. Much love to all the Cusas...

In that "Old Gang of Ours," of the early 1960s, when we were all single, young, beautiful, handsome, and on the threshold of whom we would become later in our lives, it was in the company of Diane with her movie star Sophia Loren stunning beauty whose vivaciousness we were privileged to experience. My deepest and most sincere condolences to her family.
