Edward C. DeWaine Sr.

Edward C. DeWaine Sr., 83, of Marlboro sadly passed away on March 7, 2014. Edward was born on May 8, 1930 to parents John and Barbra DeWaine of Keyport. He was raised in Keyport and graduated from Keyport High School on June 10, 1948. He then enlisted in the United States Coast Guard in September of 1948, and continued his service until October of 1954. He worked several jobs throughout his life, including Lily Tulip Cup Factory, Holmdel as a mechanic, Aumack Oil Company of Red Bank before being employed by the Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District. He worked with the school district in the maintenance department from 1971 until his retirement in 1998. In addition, he worked part time jobs at Stultz Fuel Company in Keyport and Spragues Oil Service in Matawan.

He enjoyed vacationing, fishing, antiques. classic cars and spending time with his grandchildren. He was also a member for the American Legion Post 0054 in Freehold. Edward leaves behind his wife of 51 years Patricia, and three children, Edward C. DeWaine Jr. of Marlboro, Deanna Damen of Canton, CT, and Deborah Barnstead and her husband Michael, also of Canton, CT. He also leaves behind two beloved grandchildren, Amber and Kevin Barnstead.

There will be a visitation on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, from 2 - 4 PM and 7 - 9 PM at Waitt Funeral Home located at 501 Highway 79, Morganville, NJ. On Wednesday, March 12, family and friends will gather at the funeral home from 10-11 AM. Interment will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
