Edward Matuszewski Obituary
AGE: 84 • Middletown
Edward Matuszewski, 84, of Middletown, died Monday, June 20, 2011 at Riverview Medical Center after a brief illness. He spent Father's Day surrounded by his children; Jeanne and husband Richard, Michael and wife Kathy, Matthew and wife Mary Beth; along with his grandchildren of whom his was exceedingly proud: Christopher and Yolanta, Nicholas and Rachel, Erika and Rick, Stephanie and Robert, Kaitlyn, Jennifer, Brian, Lauren, Scott, and Kelly.
Ed, a WWII Navy veteran, oversaw the Fort Monmouth commissary until his retirement. Known by his friends as Ski, he was an avid bowler and a member of the Monmouth County Bowling Hall of Fame. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Genevieve.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 23, 2011 from 5-9 pm at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. A Mass will be held Friday, June 24th at 10:30 am at St. Mary's Chapel, 26 Leonardville Rd., Middletown. SKI"S FAMILY: MY SINCEREST CONDOLENCES TO HIS FAMILY . HE WAS A TRUE FRIEND . AS A FRIEND HE TOLD YOU THE TRUTH AND WAS ALWAYS HONEST WITH YOU. I BOWLED WITH HIM MANY YEARS IN THE NATIONALS AND HE NEVER GAVE UP GAVE 110& AT ALL TIMES. I"LL MISS CALLING ON OCCASIONS. I CONSIDERED HIM ONE OF THE BEST MEN I KNEW.
