Edward Od Obituary
Toms River - Dr. Edward J. Cogan, Jr., OD, 74, of Toms River, NJ, "AKA Big ED & HAP" passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021.
Born in Red Bank, NJ, he lived in Glens Falls, NY before moving to Toms River in 1974.
Edward received his Bachelor's Degree from Villanova University and received his Doctorate from the Pennsylvania School of Optometry.
He was Optometrist and owner of The Eye Glass Store in Toms River for many years. He later moved his practice to Mule Road in Toms River.
Edward was a devoted fan of the Villanova University Men's Basketball team.
He was predeceased by his parents, Edward Sr. and Anne Cogan.
Edward is survived by his wife of 45 years, Renee (nee Concato), his two children Ryan Cogan of Toms River and Elyse Cogan of Toms River, his siblings Nancy Pereless of Middletown, NJ, Ellen Farley of Queensbury, NY and Robert Cogan of Warrensburg, NY.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday 4:00pm - 7:00pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 995 Fischer Blvd., Toms River. Burial to take place Monday 10:30am at St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River.

Hi, Renee and family. So sorry to here about Eddie passing. I grew up loving to visit with Uncle Ed & Aunt Ann and all their kids back in Red Bank and then in Lake George. My brother Buzz who was killed in Vietnam war in 1969 and he and Eddie were very close back in the day. May he rest in eternal peace. Sorry I couldn’t be there, I can’t drive that far anymore.
