WILLIS
FORMERLY OF POINT PLEASANT
Mrs. Elsa Charlotta Willis, wife of John Willis and a twenty-two year resident of Onancock, VA, formerly of Point Pleasant, NJ, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2009, at Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox, VA. Born in Hoboken, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Max Bendix and Alice Padavano Bendix. Elsa was an LPN, having worked as an Emergency Room Nurse in Point Pleasant for many years. She also worked at Shore Memorial Hospital and the Accomack County Nursing Home in Parksley, VA. She was an inductee of the Assateague Indian Tribe, a loyal supporter of the S.P.C.A., and loved all animals.
Other than her husband, survivors include two children, Alice Van Note of Point Pleasant, and Walter Van Note, III and his wife Donna of Lakewood, NJ; two brothers, Max R. Bendix of Parksley, and Dennis Smith of Tennessee; six grandchildren, Angelique Pinto, Walter E. Van Note, IV, Jessica M. Van Note, Michael Van Note, Keith B. Van Note, and Dennis R. Smalling, Jr.; and three great-grandchildren, Shane Pinto, Audrey Smalling, and Max Van Note.
A memorial service will be held at the chapel of the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home on Sunday, July 5, 2009 at 2:00 PM with Mr. Henry Turner officiating. Services in Point Pleasant will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the S.P.C.A., P.O. Box 164, Onley, VA 23418. Memory tributes may be sent to the family at www.williamsfuneralhomes.com. Arrangements by the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home.

love you always mom.i know that you were an rn at the hosptial but didnt pick up on it till to after the obit was printed. i dont know why anyone told me that we needed to come get you from that place before thay did.I will always love you and remind my grandchildren of the love you have for them.And hope to see ya again on the otherside..say hello to grandpa ..Love you always ....Your son Walt
