Elsie, was a special person I had the privilege to meet when I was 20 years old. She was recommended to me by a coworker whose German wife knew Elsie and her "Gifted Hands". She made my childhood dream dress come to life, a princess renaissance dress from some scribbles. I loved how she was so spunky and had a love of her craft. We had many laughs during my fittings. I have treasured what she did for me and my bridal party 21 years ago. My daughter will be honored to wear the dress she has made a family treasure. May she have the finest silk and ribbon to continue her gift. She was a Special Person may she Rest in Peace.

Elsie was a part of our family over fifty years. She sewed wedding dresses and bat mitzvah dresses..prom dressings. Alterations. A special woman. RIP.

Elsie was “one in a million.” As a very small child, my mom, Lucille, would bring me to Elsie while she created and altered much of my family’s wardrobe. I loved playing in her basement. As I grew up, Elsie created beautiful clothing for so many of my milestones: prom gowns, graduation, and finally my wedding gown. She even made my bedspread and pillow cases that I still use today. I always knew I was in great hands when Elsie was involved. What a talent! My sympathies go out to Mona, Carmen and the rest of the family.

Elsie was my mom’s best friend, Elsie would cook a stollen every Christmas for decades and we always looked forward to her visit. I will surely miss Elsie, she looked after me after mom died, she would call making sure things were going OK with me. Unfortunately because of health problems I won’t be able to attend the memorial service. My heart goes out to Mona and family.
