EVELYN R. HAYES
WHITING
Evelyn R. Hayes, on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, in Whiting. Born Evelyn Miriam Ribble on July 23, 1911, she was predeceased by Walter, her husband of 74 years on Sept. 23, 2008. Evelyn loved teaching and was an early childhood educator at Warwick and New Britain Township schools. She also taught Sunday and Vacation Bible School at Neshaminy and Warwick Presbyterian Church. She was a Brownie, Girl Scout, and Cub Scout den mother and a Warrington Women's Club member and officer. In 1978, the Hayes moved to Whiting and wintered in Melbourne, Fla. when not traveling in their Airstream trailer. They relocated to the Pines @ Whiting in 1997. She was passionate about her faith, family, music, and touched others lives with her interests and love.
Evelyn is survived by her three children, Charles, Carol (Carrino), and Kenneth; six granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009 at the Pines @ Whiting, 509 Route 530. Memorial contributions can be made in Evelyn's name and sent to Christian Children's Associates, P.O. Box 446, Toms River, NJ 08754. Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, Whiting.
