Florence Lillian Briody

Anderson, S.C. - Florence Lillian Briody, 89, of Anderson, S.C., formerly of Highlands, N.J., passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021, at Rainey Hospice House after a long and fulfilling life.

She was born October 2, 1931, to Charles Maxson & Harriet Bignell Maxson in Highlands NJ. She spent most of her life in Highlands and worked as a secretary for Highlands Elementary School & had her own business, Dan Dee Ceramics in Atlantic Highlands N.J., that she ran with her late husband. Later in life she and her family made the move to Mauldin, S.C. where she spent her time passionately tending her beautiful gardens.

Florence was predeceased by her mother and father; four of her siblings, Laura Maxson, Charles Maxson, Walter Maxson, and Elaine Doyle; her first husband, Harold Wise; and her second husband, Daniel Briody. She is survived by a brother, James Hartsgrove, her children; Wanda Wise, Gary Wise, Wendy Gilson, and Jennifer Blanton, grandchildren; Rachael Powers, Derek Gilson, Lindsay Gilson, Alison Briody'Thompson, and Jacob Del Verde, and a great grandson, Atticus Del Verde.

Like footprints in the sand, she may be gone from us but, her imprint on our memories will always be close to heart.

A private memorial service will be held by the family in Anderson South Carolina. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Landmark Trust at Stonechurchtrust.org

Florence, was special. Her heart and home was open and giving. She was not only family but a true friend to be there if you needed her. My mom and her Aunt Lillian, had many times of sharing story's of family and fun times I believe there will be a big family reunion. I will miss you. Much ..
