George Francis Hay, Jr.

AGE: 88 • Spring Lake and Sea Girt

George Francis Hay, Jr., 88, of Spring Lake and Sea Girt died on Friday, July 1, 2011 at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Mr. Hay was an insurance broker for Prudential in Newark for many years before retiring in 1998. He was a Commissioned Officer in the US Navy during WWII from 1943 to 1946. Mr. Hay was a graduate of Nichols College in Dudley MA and Tufts University in Medford MA. He was a member of St. Mark's RC Church in Sea Girt and the Manasquan Elks Lodge # 2534. Born in Greenwich Village and raised in Teaneck. He resided in Demarest and Cresskill before moving to the Jersey Shore in 1963.

Predeceased by his loving wife Jeanne Marie Hay in 1994 and daughter Patricia Hay in 2007. Surviving are his sons George Peter Hay of Brooklyn, Paul Francis Hay and his wife Elisa of Chatham, daughters Mary Jean Lopez and her husband Thomas of Sea Girt, Caroline Marie Hay of Tarrytown, NY and Margaret F. Hay-Dipple and her husband Charles of Manasquan. He also leaves his sister Anita Guglielmo of Spring Lake and three grandchildren Katherine, Elizabeth and Lauren.

Visiting will be on Tuesday from 10-1130am at the O'Brien Funeral Home 2028 Hwy 35 Wall. The service will be held Tuesday 1130am at the funeral home. Entombment will be at St. Catharine's Cemetery in Sea Girt. Donations may be made in his name to the American Alzheimer's Association 400 Morris Ave, Suite 251 Denville NJ 07834.
