George Joseph McNally, 80 of Spring Lake, NJ and Stuart, FL passed away suddenly on Friday October 7, 2016 at his Spring Lake, NJ home with his beloved family at his side.

George was born and raised in West Orange, NJ and attended school at Our Lady of the Valley in Orange, NJ. He graduated from St. Peter's College, where he earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry. He also earned a master's degree in business administration from Seton Hall University. He was a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army ASA, with two years of active service, stationed in Germany, and six years of reserve service. He lived in West Orange, NJ; Kinnelon, NJ; Rosieres, Belgium; and Parkersburg, WV before moving to Spring Lake, NJ in 1983.

George retired as President and Chief Executive Officer of Borg-Warner Chemicals, Inc in Parkersburg, WV and Vice President and Managing Partner of Borg-Warner Corporation, Oakbrook, IL in 1988. He was a member of the American Chemical Society, the Society of Chemical Industry and the Society of Plastic Engineers. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Chemical Manufacturers Association.

George was an avid reader, fisherman, golfer and tennis player. He was an active member of the Spring Lake Bath & Tennis, Spring Lake Golf Club and Sailfish Point Community. He enjoyed long standing friendships and will be missed by all who knew him. He loved to spend time at the beach with his family and dogs.

He was predeceased by his parents George M. and Margaret Filan McNally and his sister Margaret "Peggy" Campbell and nephew Richard.

Surviving is his devoted wife of 51 years Hazel Law McNally; his beloved children Kathleen Ricchetti and husband Jeff of Arlington, VA; John McNally and wife Allison of Verona, NJ and Stephen McNally of Arlington, VA; and his 4 cherished grandchildren Brendan and Matthew McNally and Thomas and Emma Ricchetti. He will be dearly missed by his many nephews and nieces, and members of the extended Campbell and Law families.

The McNally family will receive friends on Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 10:30am until the time of the Memorial Service at 12:00pm at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall, NJ 07719. A private cremation was at the convenience of the McNally family.

In lieu of flowers the McNally family specifically requests donations to the St. Peter Fund - Unrestricted, c/o Saint Peter's University, 2641 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, NJ 07306. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home on Saturday.
