Geraldine T. (Gerry Crone) Fitzsimmons, 80, of Highlands, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014, at home. She was born in Newark to the late Jerome and Marie (Hear) Crone. She resided in Cliffwood Beach for 29 years and Melbourne, FL for 15 years. She worked as a bus driver for Milu Bus Co. in NJ; and the Brevard County School Board in FL. She also worked for Shop-Rite, then Pathmark while residing in NJ. Gerry was a Eucharistic Minister and Lector for Our Lady of Lourdes, Melbourne, FL; and Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Highlands, NJ. She was a communicant of St. Catherine's R.C. Church, North Middletown. She was also a Marist-Cuisillos Rosary Society; a member of Columbus Society; the Keyport and Highland Seniors; a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW #4745 for over 50 years; and the Cliffwood Fire Department.

Gerry is the beloved mother of Theresa Donato; proud mother-in-law of Michael A. Donato; and devoted grandmother to Michael V. Donato. She is also survived by her sister, Julie Cameron of Howell; sister-in-law, Jean Crone of Brick; nieces Doris, Colleen, Elizabeth and JoAnn; nephews, David, Paul, Todd and Patrick; six grandnieces and eight grandnephews. She was predeceased by her husband, James in 2000; her brother, Jerome in 2003; and her sister, Marie in 2009.

Family and friends are invited from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport; and 8:30 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2014 at the funeral home, with a 9:15 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph R.C.
