AGE: 51 • New Egypt

Gerard J. Whalen, 51, passed away on Monday, Nov. 5, 2012. Gerard was born in New York City and raised in Manalapan. He was a graduate of Manalapan High School. Gerard was a laborer who worked for various companies throughout his life. He was an avid animal lover who also loved to fish.

Gerard was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Whalen. He is survived by his mother, Joan Whalen of Jackson; his father, Thomas Whalen and his companion, Mary of Neptune; his children, Alex Whalen, Heather Whalen and Carlene Whalen; his wife, Deena Britt Whalen, her two children, PJ Britt and Miranda Britt all of New Egypt. He is also survived by two brothers, Christopher Whalen and his wife Deborah of Lakewood, Timothy Whalen and his wife Pam of Jackson and a sister, Colleen Madden and her husband Dean of Jackson; 4 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are under the direction of Orender Family Home for Funerals, Manasquan, NJ. Services were private. In keeping with Gerard's spirit for his love of animals memorial donations may be made to an animal shelter of your choice. To send condolences to the family please visit www.orenderfamilyhome.com.

Gerard you were a big part of mine and my kids lives for a very long time. I will miss your smile and laughter as well as your jokes. I love all the things you wrote to me over the years that we were together. You will be missed.
