HARRY BOOTH
AGE: 89 MIDLAND PARK
Harry Booth, absent from the body, present with the Lord, on Friday, November 26, 2010, age 89 of Midland Park. Born in Paterson, Harry had resided in Hawthorne for 36 years before moving to Toms River and then to Midland Park in 2003. Harry proudly served his country during World War II as a member of the U.S. Coast Guard. After his service, Harry became a machinist for Curtiss Wright Aeronautical in Woodridge for 30 years and subsequently worked as a custodian for the Hawthorne Board of Education at Franklin School. Harry was a member of Hawthorne Gospel Church. He served as the head umpire for the Hawthorne Umpire's Association and was a member of the Hawthorne Auxiliary Police. Harry Booth was the beloved husband of Ruth (nee: Smith) Booth, of Midland Park. Loving father of Janice Sikkema and her husband Fred, of The Villages, Florida, Judy Booth of Nutley, Ruthann Steyling and her husband Bruce of Hawthorne, Debbie Dragonetti and her husband Lenny of Midland Park. Dear grandfather of eight and great-grandfather of five.
Funeral will be at 12:00pm on Monday, November 29, 2010 at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Avenue, Hawthorne. Interment will be held privately at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ. Friends may call on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hawthorne Gospel Missionary Fund, 2000 Route 208 North, Hawthorne, NJ 07506. (www.browningforshay.com)
