JAMES T. LONERGAN
AGE: 84 SEA GIRT
James T. Lonergan, 84, of Sea Girt, died on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at his home. Mr. Lonergan was a letter carrier for the US Post Office in Belmar for many years before retiring in 1987. He was a US Army Veteran during WWII from 1943-1946. Mr. Lonergan was a communicant of St. Mark's R C Church in Sea Girt and was a member of the American Legion # 0346 in Neptune. Born in West Orange he lived in Belmar before moving to Sea Girt in 1979.
Predeceased by his loving wife Helen in 2006. He is survived by his step daughter Kathy Harnett and her husband Paul Jr. of Bayonne and Sea Girt, sister in law Rose Coe of Old Bridge and two grandchildren Paul Andrew Harnett III and Michael John Harnett.
Visiting will be on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the O'Brien Funeral Home 2028 Hwy 35 Wall. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday 9:30am at St. Mark's R C Church in Sea Girt. Entombment will be at St. Catharine's Cemetery, Sea Girt. Memorial donations may be made in his name to Childrens Lightening Wheels c/o Michael John Harnett P/O Box 3409 Bayonne NJ 07002.
