James T Ritchie Jr.

AGE: 73 • Waretown

James T. Ritchie Jr., age 73, of Waretown died on March 21, 2013 at his home. Born and raised in New Dorp, Staten Island, James was a graduate of St. Peters Boys High School on Staten Island and from Richmond College. He was a Police Officer with the New York Police Department who retired after twenty years of service. Mr. Ritchie was a parishioner of St. Pius X, and a member of 10-13 Organization for retired Police Officers. He was an avid golfer, who loved trips to Disney and Atlantic City, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife of 47 years Marilyn, their three children, James III and his wife Jenifre, Tara Trezza and her husband Thom, and Amy Desjardins and her husband Robert. Their six grandchildren, Amanda and Kaylee Ritchie, Casey, Ryan and Patrick Trezza and Connor Desjardins, also surviving are his two sisters Mary Jezior and Barbara Hughes along with many friends, nieces and nephews.

A Viewing will be held on Friday March 22, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9pm and again on Saturday from 10-10:45 at Riggs Funeral Home, 130 N. Rt. 9 Forked River, A Funeral Liturgy will be offered from St. Pius X R/C Church, 300 Lacey Road on Saturday at 11am, cremation will follow and be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Jersey Shore 10-13 Association 1212 New Brunswick Ave. Manasquan, NJ 08736 in James' memory.
