Jewel Sherman Obituary
AGE: 79 • Lacey
Jewel C. Sherman, 79, of Lacey, passed away at her home on Sunday, May 10, 2015. Born in Lyndhurst, she was formerly of Parsippany before moving to Lacey in 1969. She worked for the Lacey Township School District for 22 years before retiring in 2000. She was a member of the Eastern Star TR Chapter #159 and Lacey Presbyterian Church.
She was predeceased by her son, James in 2005 & her brother, John Franz in 2007. Surviving is her husband of 54 years, Alfred; her son, Chris, Forked River & Judith Ann Meyncke, Hinesburg, VT; 3 grandchildren & several nieces, nephews & cousins.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 13 and 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, May 14 at the Family Owned Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals, 412 Main St., Toms River. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shriners Hospital, 3551 North Broad St., Philadelphia, PA 19140-4131. Condolences can be sent to: carmonabolenfh.com.

I remember Jewel well from Cedar Creek School. Her friendly smile touched everyone with whom she came in contact with. The staff and children certainly benefitted by her presence.

I will always treasure the memories of Aunt Julie meeting Mom halfway with Jimmy so we could spend the day at Great Adventure. She always gave the best BBQ's. You will be missed Aunt Julie.

I have a lot a great memories growing up in the Sherman house during the summers with my cousin Judy. We had some fantastic summers together with Aunt Julie and Uncle Kenny, will always treasure that. Will miss you dearly.....

Al, I was so sorry to hear of Jewel's passing. She was a sweet lady and we had a lot of good talks and laughs. I retired from my job last week. I will miss you and Jewel at the office. My prayers are with you.
