Middletown - Joanne M. Cataneo (née D'Amico), 79, of Middletown, NJ passed away on August 24, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.

Joanne was born February 5, 1942 in Englewood, NJ. She is a graduate of Katharine Gibbs School and Brookdale School of Nursing. She worked at Riverview Hospital, New Ivy House and as a Director of Nursing at Regency Park Nursing Home.

Joanne loved to read, do her crossword puzzles, play her word games on her iPad and try new recipes that she clipped from newspapers and magazines. She enjoyed socializing and playing Mahjong with her friends. Her greatest joy were the times she spent with her children and grandchildren. Her passing leaves a huge void in our family.

She was predeceased by her husband, Tom, who passed in February, 2019. She is survived by her 3 devoted children, Jennifer and Philip Bruno, Rumson, NJ; Meredith and Dan Kasun, Fair Haven, NJ; Mark and Jacquie Cataneo, Farmingdale, NJ. Her beloved 8 grandchildren- John, Anna, Olivia, Ashley, Matthew, Nikki, Michael and Thomas. And her best fur buddy, Roxy the cat.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 3:00 - 7:00 pm with a prayer service at 6:15 pm at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to an animal organization of your choosing.
