John P. Concello

John P. Concello, 90, of Marlboro, passed away on Sunday January 19, 2014 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. He was born in Marion Heights, PA and lived in Hazlet before moving to Marlboro 33 years ago. He was a retired Research Specialist with Englehard Minerals and Chemicals in Menlo Park, NJ. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. John was an accomplished musician and pianist. He had worked as a full time musician playing in clubs as well as performing at weddings. He was also a member of the Musicians Local Union in Perth Amboy. He had taught 2 of his grandchildren to play the piano, of which he was very proud. John also shared a love for Golf and was a member at the former Marlboro Country Club now known as Bella Vista Country Club. He also enjoyed playing bridge and most recently learned to play online. John had a love for life and will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

He leaves behind his wife of 33 years Marie Sheffield, 2 sons and a daughter-in-law James M. Concello and Bill and Hitomi Concello, 4 stepchildren, Michael Sheffield, Dale Monchek, Mary Coleman, and Susan Weber, a sister Angie, and 6 grandchildren, Emma, Catherine, Michael, Brian, Christopher and Danielle.

In respect of John's wishes he had been privately cremated. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Friday January 24, 2014 at 1pm at St. Gabriel Cemetery, for a funeral service at which time his remains will be entombed.
