John "Jack" Ferry (Jersey City Fire Dept./Actor), 45, of Ocean Township, Monmouth County, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015. John was a proud Jersey City Firefighter assigned to Hook & Ladder 3/Engine 7 "D" Group. Born in Brooklyn, NY, John spent his high school years in South Brunswick, NJ and was a graduate of Syracuse University. He also lived in Hoboken and Jersey City before settling in Ocean Township.

An accomplished and rising actor, John performed in Boardwalk Empire, The Blacklist, and Abigail, a Cannes winning short film. He was a proud member of the Renegade Theatre Company in New York City, in addition to acting in several films in post-production.

John was the beloved husband of Ellen (Magee) Ferry; Devoted father of John Augustus Ferry; Loving son of Mary (Walsh) and the late John Augustus Ferry; Dear brother of Patricia O'Connell & husband James, Evelyn Concagh & husband Danny and Maureen Ferry. Also survived by numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and one grandniece.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015 at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35 at New Bedford Road, Wall. Funeral will begin 9:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21, 2015 at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow 10:30 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, 603 7th Ave., Belmar.
