John F. Fleming, 77, of Brick and a longtime resident of Bayonne, passed away Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. John was born in Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland and came to the United States in 1961 settling in Bayonne where they resided for 40 years before moving to Brick 11 years ago. John had been employed as a painter at the New York Stock Exchange for 40 years. As a resident of Bayonne, John was a member of St. Andrew's Parish, Bayonne and a member of their Council #371 Star of the Sea, Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Irish-American Society, Bayonne and the Shamrock Society, Bayonne. As a resident of Brick, John was a communicant of St. Martha's R.C. Church, Point Pleasant, a member of the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh, Belmar. He was also an avid golfer.

John is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Ann (nee O'Connor) Fleming; his beloved children and their spouses, Michael and Rosemary Fleming of Huntington, NY, John and Christine Fleming of Bethesda, MD, Nora and Adrian Cervara of Point Pleasant, Frances and Roger Milici of Fairfield, CT, and Una and John Hughes of Bayonne; his 4 dear sisters, Derville and husband Arthur Townsend Sr., Marie Dolorosa Fleming, Anne Fleming and Frances Fleming, all of Ireland; and his 12 grandchildren, Joseph, Deirdre, Katie, Finula, Michael, Gabby, Hannah, Annabella, Kit, Fiona, Jack and Cora.

Relatives and friends are invited to call from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8 at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2012 at St. Martha's R.C. Church, Point Pleasant. Burial will be private in the family plot in Ireland.
