John F. Stalb, Jr.

John F. Stalb, Jr., 81, of Whiting, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Born in Lakewood, he was raised in Titusville, N.J. and lived in Seaside Park for many years. John had retired to Virginia and Florida prior to settling in Whiting. He retired from Seaside Park Police Department as a Lieutenant after over 25 years of dedicated service. He was a Firearms Instructor for Ocean County Police Academy and served as Seaside Park Police Range Manager. John was a member of St. Joseph's Church and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a life member of Tri-Boro First Aid Squad and served as Treasurer; life member of Seaside Park Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1; life member of Knights of Columbus Council 8415 of St. Catharine of Siena Church, Seaside Park; life member of PBA Local 182 of Seaside Park; he volunteered for the Marine Police in Port St. Lucie, FL; and a member of N.J. State Retired Police and Fireman Association Local No. 8 of Ocean County. John was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed woodworking. The light of his life was his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Margaret of 48 years; his infant sons, John Patrick and Richard; his parents, John F. and Margaret Stalb and his sister, Mary Wolfarth. Surviving are his beloved wife, Frances; his daughters, Christine M. Menter and her husband John of Jackson, and Maureen L. Orrico and her husband John of New York City; his step-sons, Joseph Dolci and his wife Deborah, John Dolci and his wife Doria and James Dolci and his wife Debbie; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Catherine, Michele, Christopher, Heather, Jaimie, Jodi, Kristen, Kasia and Hunter; his cherished 14 great grandchildren; and many caring nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 685 Hooper Ave. Toms River. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Trenton.
