John Surrette Obituary
Formerly of Wall - John P. Surrette, formerly of Wall Township, passed from this world Saturday morning November 17, 2018 at Ocean Medical Center. He was born January 14, 1932 in Philadelphia, the eldest of John and Mary (Cowan) Surrette's two sons. John served aboard the destroyer USS Gatling during the Korean War and after his service worked for NJ Transit as a bus driver retiring in 1993 after 35 years. An avid camper and hiker, John was devoted to Scouting ultimately receiving their Silver Beaver Award for his many decades of faithful service.
John is predeceased by his wife Sharon, daughter Danielle, and son Kevin and is survived by his son Steve, daughter-in-law Judy and their children Etienne and Juliann, son Kyle, and his brother Geoff and his children Deb, Tracey, and Geoff Surrette.
A memorial service will be held Saturday November 24th, 2:00-3:30 PM at O'Brien Funeral Home, Wall, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name at www.monmouthbsa.org/donate
