AGE: 62 •
formerly of Fair Haven
John J. Toomey, 62, formerly of Fair Haven, passed away at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch on Friday, Jan. 10, 2014. John was a graduate of St. James Elementary School, Red Bank and a 1971 graduate of Rumson-Fair Haven High School. He was a self-employed landscaper taking care of many families in the Fair Haven, Little Silver and Rumson areas. John was a 40 year social member of the Fair Haven Volunteer Fire Company and a 37 year honorary member of the Fair Haven First Aid Squad. He was also a 10+ year volunteer at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch.
John was predeceased by his parents, Porter F. and Annie "Nan" Toomey. He will be fondly remembered and missed by close friends and neighbors.
All arrangements were private and entrusted to the Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank.
