Joseph A. Cafiero Sr., 63, of Jackson, passed away Monday, May 10, 2010, at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. Mr. Cafiero was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and resided in Staten Island, N.Y. before moving to Jackson five years ago. He was employed as an electrician for the I.B.E.W. Local #3, New York City since 1966 and retired in 1992. Mr. Cafiero was a member of the Staten Island Electrical Club. He was also the founder of the "Do Nothing Club" in Westlake Golf and Country Club in Jackson.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph W. and Mary Cafiero. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Antonina "Toni" Cafiero; his son, Joseph Cafiero of Staten Island, N.Y.; his daughter, Lori Cafiero of Bluffton, S.C.; his sister, Linda Patterson of Canton, Ohio; his grandchildren, Nicole Cafiero, Stephanie Cafiero, Carly Cafiero, Michelle Cafiero, and Jeffrey Cafiero; his nephews, Ryan Patterson, Robert Patterson and Richard Patterson; and his beloved pet of 18 years, Norton, the African Grey Parrot.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 14 at the George S. Hassler Funeral Home, 980 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson. A gathering will be offered at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 15 at the funeral home. His funeral service will follow at 9 a.m. at the funeral home.
