Joseph Paul McConville, 86, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2011. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Louise. He is survived by a sister, Julice Chatel of Dix Hills NY, son, Thomas, daughter, Linda and husband Kirk Pracejus, daughter, Nancy and husband Dennis Francy, son, Michael and wife Michelle; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
A World War II Veteran, Joe served as a Combat Medic with the Army's 2nd Infantry Regiment, 5th Infantry Division. His unit was part of General Patton's Third Army and participated in five campaigns, including Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. After the war, he worked as a frequency engineer at RCA for over 40 years. Upon retiring, he devoted himself to family and friends for the remainder of his time with us.
The funeral will be Private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joe's honor to Disabled American Veterans, www.dav.org
