Joseph L. McMenaman

AGE: 84 • Manasquan and Delray Beach, Fla.

Joseph L. McMenaman, 84 of Manasquan and Delray Beach, Fla. passed away Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.

Joe was born in Newark and had resided in Brick Twp., where he raised his large loving family and owned Starck's Landing Marina for over 30 years. During which time, he also worked in sales in multiple facets of the marine industry for over 50 years.

He was a graduate of Delbarton High School and St. Anselm's College, Manchester, NH and then went on to join the US Army during the Korean War.

He was a devout Catholic and very involved with St. Dominic's Church, Brick, serving as a Eucharistic Minister.

Joe was an avid fisherman and boater who enjoyed many hours on the water.

He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Martha Black McMenaman, and his 2 sons Timothy P. in 1966 and Mark J. in 1986.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years Patricia Shannon McMenaman, his loving children and their spouses; Susan Pesce and husband David, Joseph and wife Jayne, Michele Nunziato and husband Robert, Tricia McMenaman, Michael and wife Ruthann, Gregory and wife Angela, and Kelly Condon and husband Michael, his 16 dear grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, and his 2 brothers and their wives Jack and Bunni McMenaman and Paul and Nancy McMenaman and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are to attend the visitation on Thursday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Rd. at Rt. 70, Brick, NJ followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, December 4, 2015 at 9:00am at St. Dominic's Church, 250 Old Squan Rd, Brick, NJ 08724. Burial will be in the family plot in St. Catharine's Cemetery, Sea Girt. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request donations to Jersey Shore Medical Center Hospice Care in memory of Joe. Envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home on Thursday.
