Joseph Ponzo Obituary
AGE: 80 • Berkeley Twp.
Joseph A. Ponzo, age 80, of Holiday City Berkeley section of Berkeley Twp. died on May 14, 2012 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Hackensack, NJ he lived in Little Ferry and Lodi, NJ before moving to Toms River in 1972. Joseph served in the US Army. He later went on to work for BASF Corporation, Lodi, NJ as an Ink Maker for 35 years, retiring in 1997.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Marion R. (Trojian) Ponzo. He is also survived by his daughter Deborah and her husband Mark Meinwieser of Toms River, two grandchildren Edward and Joseph.
The family will receive relatives and friends Saturday, May 19th, 2012 from 1-4pm with a 3:30 pm religious service at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River, NJ. Private Committal. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Joseph's memory to the NJ Foundation for the Blind 230 Diamond Spring Rd, PO Box 929, Denville, NJ 07834. Uncle Joe will be missed. He taught me how to play Gin and I in turn taught my children. Uncle Joe had a unique style of playing. He would talk up a storm so you could not concentrate on your hand.
