AGE: 58 • Toms River
Kathleen M. Skolsky, 58, of Toms River, passed away at her home on March 15, 2016. Born in Brooklyn, she was formerly of Brooklyn, NY before moving to Toms River in 1988. She was the owner/operator, along with her husband, of Sweet Cakes Ice Cream, Forked River for 13 years.
Surviving are her husband of 16 years, Fred; her brothers & sisters, Edward, William and Michael Berliner & Margaret Ann, MaryAnn Berliner & Maureen Austin; her step children, Jason & Sarah & step grandchildren, Kloey & Savannah and her step sister, Karen Willis.
Visitation will be on Saturday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the family Owned Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals, 412 Main St, Toms River. Funeral service will be on Sunday at 10am at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.

Sweet Kate, such a wonderful woman! So personable and caring! My kids loved going to her shop of course for ice cream but also to see her. Our condolences to her family. You will be missed.

My family is so sad about the passing of Kate. We always had her make and decorate our cakes for all occasions! She was so talented in what she did and will be missed. She was such a nice person and always asked about my family, I really enjoyed talking to her in her store. RIP my friend Love The Stabile Family

I am so sad to hear of Kate's passing. She was such a great person and my kids and I loved her shop. My littlest would always ask if we could see Kate and get ice cream. She was so friendly and personable. She will definitely be missed. Sending my condolences to her family.
