Ocean Township - It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Katina Pappas (nee Vretos) of Ocean Township on July 3, 2018. Katina had an unwavering faith in God and was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Ocean Township. Katina was born in Agia Effimia, Kefalonia, Greece and came to the United States in 1962. Katina will be remembered as a kind and gentle soul, a devoted wife and mother, raising two loving sons. Everyone who knew Katina understood her complete dedication to her family. Katina will be sadly missed but remains alive in our hearts and minds with profound respect and affection. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Pappas, her loving son, Spiro Pappas, and her brother, Angelo Vretos of Kafalonia, Greece.

Katina is survived by her beloved son, James Pappas of Ocean Township. Also surviving are Katina's brother, Angelo Vretos of Greece, many loving nieces and nephews, numerous caring relatives, along with loyal friends who enriched Katina's life in their own unique way.

Visitation will be from 4:00pm - 6:00pm on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Francioni Taylor & Lopez, 1200 Tenth Ave., Neptune. Service will be at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, West Park Ave., Ocean on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 10:00am. Interment will be at St. George Cemetary.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1033 West Park Ave., Ocean, NJ. In honor of Katina, always remember to do what's right and do what's good. Be kind and help others. The world can always use one more kind person.
