Waretown - Kenneth M. Meissner, 42, of Waretown passed away at his home on March 3, 2021. Ken was born in Newark and raised in Whiting, NJ. He worked as a HVAC technician for over 20 years. He loved everything about nature. Ken regularly kayaked and fished the local creek, enjoyed cooking and had an impressive edged weaponry collection. His pit bulls, Diesel and Yeager, were his life. He trained them and brought them everywhere. Then one day his life changed when his son was born. Daniel became his world. Ken was a devoted and loving father. He was such a strong man but had a gentle heart. He never comprised his beliefs and would always enjoy a good conversation. He will be missed for so many reasons but the number one being that now there will be no one to argue with about stupid stuff.

Ken was predeceased by his grandparents, Valentine and Vivian Meissner, Ronald Klena, Dolores Ross and aunt, Valeria Meissner and pit bulls. He is survived by his son, Daniel, his mother and step-father, Marguerite and Robert Louis, his father and step-mother, Martin and Angie Meissner, grandmother, Brenda Klena, his siblings, Kelly Berndt and her husband Bruce, Brittany Louis, Rob Louis, Shaun Meissner, Bethany Meissner and the mother of his son, Vanessa Van Wagner along with many other family and lifelong friends.

Services were private and under the direction of Riggs Funeral Home, 130 North Rt. 9, Forked River, NJ 08731. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ken's memory may be made to Jersey Pits Rescue at jerseypitsrescue.com.
