Kimberley Dey Obituary

Kimberley Anne Dey

AGE: 60 • Highlands

Kimberley Anne Dey, 60, of Highlands, received her Angel Wings on Monday evening, February 15th after waging a courageous battle against cancer. She departed this life peacefully at home, in the presence of her loving mother, sister Merrall and dear friend, Diane. At which point, she received the Lord's Prayer. Kim is now in heaven in the tender arms of the love of her life, Willie Patton. Kim came into the world with a spirited agenda to E. William and Diane M. Dey. Raised in Rumson, NJ. Kim's awakening to curricular endeavors was revealed through the hallowed halls of Holy Cross, Forrestdale and Rumson-Fair Haven Regional H.S. Further social nurturing was encouraged by the excitement of growing up on Bingham Ave and cultivating lifelong friendships. Kim's work endeavors were in the restaurant field for 40 years, where she excelled in management positions for restaurants and country clubs in the Two Rivers area of New Jersey and Southern California. She yearned for summers at Sea Bright Beach Club. Vacation time was defined by exotic cruises and sunny environments, surrounded by palm trees with dear friends. She was the consummate aunt to her niece and nephews.

Kim had a mischievous spirit, a wicked sense of humor and an unparalleled lust for life.

She is survived by her mother, Diane M. Dey, her siblings Carroll Dey of Washington, D.C., Billy Dey, his wife Stephanie and their children Pierson and Jack of Fair Haven, NJ; Merrall, her husband Rich Freund and their children Delanie and Garrett of W. Long Branch, NJ. Additional survivors include her Aunt Judy Dey, Uncle "Doc" and Aunt Phoebe Dey, along with Dey cousins, Penny, Robin, Andrew, Tom and cousin Jim Pope.

A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held Saturday, March 5th at 11 a.m. at Church of the Nativity, Fair Haven, NJ. A reception at the Church will follow immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to ARC, Children and Family Services, Shore House or the American Cancer Society. We will always love and miss you, Kimmy.
