Lily Borders Obituary
AGE: 13 • Piscataway
Lily Acacia - Borders, 13, died Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick.
Born in San Francisco, California, Lily and her family settled to Piscataway in 2007. The fashionista of Lakeview School in Edison, Lily could brighten anyone's day with her beautiful smile.
She enjoyed being read Dr. Seuss books, especially, One Fish, Two Fish, Horton Hears a Who and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Lily loved listening to songs about ducks and watching movies. She touched many lives and will be forever missed.
She is survived by her mothers, Marie Acacia and Jennifer Borders and sister, Sofia Rose, all of Piscataway; grandparents, Sam and Cecilia Acacia of Staten Island, Carl Borders and wife Carol of Mountainair, New Mexico and Sandy Pate of Groveton, Texas; Aunts and Uncles, Joseph Acacia and wife Lisa of Marlboro, Cecilia Acacia of Metuchen, Lynn Tyson and husband Al of Staten Island, Susan Reinhart and husband Peter of Tatomy, PA, Angela Haynberg and husband Jason of West Chester, PA and Great Aunt Karen Young and husband Edwin of Cleveland, TX.
She will also be missed by her nurses, Grace Nyeki, Hawa Yvonie-Khan, Mariama Marah , Judith Campbell, Fatima Kamari, other caregivers and a host of cousins, extended relatives and friends.
Funeral services will begin on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at 2 PM in the South Plainfield Funeral Home, 2456 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080. Cremation will be held privately.
Family and friends may attend visitation on Saturday from 3-6 PM in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lily's name to The Lakeview School, 10 Oak Drive Edison, NJ 08837. Their website is http://www.njid.org/lakeview-school

And so our sweet Lily has moved... and although her life was short in years, her smile and talent to bring joy to others leave a mark on many lives... to know Lily was to love Lily and my thoughts are with all of us who grieve her passing, especially her beloved mothers and devoted family.
May gentle memories bring comfort and peace.
