Louis Mattei Obituary
AGE: 86 • Raritan
Raritan, NJ (lifelong resident) - Louis Mattei, 86, died on October 7, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Raritan on July 14, 1930 to his late parents Emelia Policelli and Vincent Mattei.
Lou was a graduate of Rutgers University where he received a Bachelors degree. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was dedicated to his country. Lou was an Independent Insurance Broker, founder and first President of the National Association Health Underwriters, communicant at St. Ann's Church, devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed playing golf. Lou was a kind, caring, generous person, and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Lou is survived by his beloved wife, Inez Bosetti Mattei of 64 years, his loving children, Louis Mattei, David Mattei and fiancé Inge, and Diane Mattei, two dear brothers, Vincent Mattei and his wife Marianne and Artie Mattei and his wife Eleanor, five wonderful grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and a dear sister-in-law, Rose Gada and her husband Robert. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Jean Orsini and Helen Martino-Arakalian, and three brother-in-laws, Renzo Bosetti, Ozzie Orsini, and John Arakalian.
Viewing, Monday, October 10, 2016, 3:00 to 7:00 pm at the Bongiovi Funeral Home, 416 Bell Avenue, Raritan, NJ 08869, (908-725-1887).
Funeral Services, Tuesday, October 11, 2016, viewing 8:30 to 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass at St. Ann's Church, 45 Anderson Street, Raritan, NJ 08869.
Inurnment, Saturday October 15, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Bernard's Cemetery, Bridgewater, NJ. Visit www.bongiovifuneralhome.com to express your condolences.
